The Vala Island-Book 1: Valados

Aron stood still within the closet, watching the creatures ravenously devour those who hadn’t been as lucky or as observant as himself. He looked on, as his breathing became erratic, at the mortifying scene, and began to panic. Suddenly, a hand covered his mouth, sending him into shock, as he thought one of the creatures had found him, knocking over a hanger, which drew the attention of the creatures. As the creatures moved towards the closet, a man, who was in the closet opposite to Aron, crept out, aiming to head through the door. The door opened with a loud ‘CREAK’, immediately causing the creatures’ attention to shift to him. He ran, as fast as he could, but was caught, and ripped to shreds as they devoured him. Aron, had noticed that he hadn’t been injured, and quickly turned to see Resha, who, though still in tears, was quietly pleading with him, in order to save themselves. Aron held her tightly, as she continued to weep for her friends, who laughed when Aron told them what was coming. They spent hours in the closet, listening to the blood-curdling cries of the victims, trying to comfort each other, during the time.

After 3 hours, the hotel was deafeningly silent, allowing for the animals in the jungle to be clearly heard, though they were miles away. Aron and Resha quietly exited the closet, and slowly navigated their way to his room, as he always had a large collection of sporting gear wherever he went. When he reached the room, he noticed an insignia on the door, one that he and his sisters had created, and he smiled. Upon opening the door, he saw some of his teammates and a few friends. He was overjoyed, but then looked to his left and saw 3 horrendously, disfigured, wild dogs, moving towards him. Staying quiet about it, he kissed Resha, and then pushed her into the room. Just before he closed the door, Lenny stepped out, closing the door behind him, as he had also seen the dogs, and wasn’t going to leave Aron alone to fend for himself without a weapon. Lenny brought with him a javelin, for protection, causing the dogs to back off for a bit, but then one suddenly lunged at Lenny, who impaled it through the eye, and into the head. He kicked the carcass off of the javelin, then moved back and watched they consumed their own. Lenny was a little relieved, but then saw more coming down the hallway. “A tactical retreat is in order,” said Aron, as he turned to run, tugging on Lenny’s shirt.

They both ran down the hall, but Lenny, being much faster, as he was the team’s striker, easily gained distance between him and Aron, felling a dog every now and then as he went on. Aron, as he looked behind, noticing that the dogs were gaining on him, he thought quickly about where they’d go, and found the perfect place. “Lenny, the gym!” shouted Aron, as he thought about how he was going to get to the gym, 3 floors down. When Lenny went around the corner, Aron saw the chandelier, which hung 7 floors above the 1st floor lobby. Though it was a crazy idea, he knew that this was the only possible way that he would have gotten to the gym in time. With all his might, he jumped the railing, barely grabbing onto a part of the chandelier, and swung towards the railing on the other side of the circular room. Looking down, he could see a large pack of animals feeding and hoped that he wouldn’t fall. Just before he had reached the other side of the room, the chandelier gave way, first with a jerking motion, which propelled him a floor down, then fell ‘CRASH’ onto the lobby floor, killing everyone and everything below it. Aron, when propelled to the floor below, landed shoulder first onto the ground, injuring it. He slowly got up, and continued on, heading towards the gym.

When he arrived on the 4th floor, he remembered Lenny, who was nowhere to be seen. Lenny had gone into the elevator, then through the elevator shaft, as it wasn’t working. He climbed down the cables, and forced open the doors, and turned to see Aron, who has just made it around the corner. They were both continuing to the gym, when they heard a deep and eerie howl. They stopped and looked around, and only saw the shadows of the dogs, but suddenly, there was a bone-shattering crunch, as something picked one of the dogs up into its mouth, chewing and swallowing the animal. Aron started to run, then turned back to grab onto Lenny’s collar, to pull him along, as he was shocked with awe at the size of the shadow of the creature in comparison to that of the dog. Their running on the wooden floor drew the animal, and its massive footsteps could be heard as it came down the hall. Aron didn’t look behind him this time, as he could now see the metal doors of the gym. Running at full speed, they both slammed into the door, Aron, with the uninjured shoulder, sending the doors flying open. To their surprise, the gym was filled with gorilla-like animals who were dining on the members in the gym. Aron’s heart rate seemingly went through the roof, as they turned to him and Lenny, then suddenly, everything seems to slow down to him. He quickly worked out a plan on how to escape, and saw a vent above one of the animals’ head.

When the speed was corrected, he got out of his pocket, his lucky stone, a pure white, large, round stone which his father had given him, and threw it. When it hit the vent, it made a loud ‘BANG’, causing it to fall onto a machine, which made even more noise. Lenny took the opportunity to move off, as the sounds drew their attentions. He ran towards a machine, jumped too it, then seemingly bounced from it to another then into the vent. Aron at the time, had hidden himself behind the large metal door, which was now against the wall, with him in between, and the beast following them entered the room, causing pandemonium amongst the gorillas. As Aron stood their hoping the beast wouldn’t find him, he wished that they hadn’t taken the tickets they had gotten a month ago.

Splendid start. Hmm...it should be cautiously, but it gripped my interest.

Nice yo know that you're looking forward to it. Oh, by the way, Some of the character names became hard for people off of the site to pronounce, so i had to change some of them, for example: Akira-->Aron, Lief-->Lenny. A few others will be changed as well, but Ishi, yours is ok, i actually know someone named Ishi at Utech, he used to go to Wolmers too.

Yea, that dude's a friend of mine. And Akira, splendid work. I want to see what else you can come up with.
